How to Find Us
All right, amigos, before we start driving, a quick Spanish 101 lesson that will help you with the road signs along the way.
In Spanish, Este = East, Oeste = West, Norte = North, and Sur = South. Great, now we are ready!
- Take Route #26 to Route #66 East.
- Take Route #66 East to Route #3 East toward Fajardo.
- Proceed until you begin to approach the municipality of Fajardo. Look for a shopping center on the left (Eastern Plaza) with a Room To Go and a McDonalds on the corner, and turn left at the traffic light onto Rd. 194
- Go straight on Rd. #194 for 1.2 miles. Immediately after passing the Burger King on your left, turn left into El Conquistador Avenue.
- At the first traffic light, turn right onto Rafael Bermudez Ave., going east until you come to a T.
- Turn left on Cabezas Road (PR #987) heading northeast. In minutes, you’ll see the signs for Puerto Chico. Turn right into the Marina, go down the hill, and look for the parking lot on the left (free, secure parking). You will then walk through the gate and meet us to check in at the white tent. It is next to the marina main office and Restaurant Cinco Nudos.

The Northeast of Puerto Rico gives us a feeling of being on an island within an island. It is a complete destination by itself. It provides beaches of different types of sands, cays and islets, the Yunque Rainforest and the populated and paradisiacal islands of Vieques and Culebra.
In addition to being a center with diverse attractions, it is a world-class gastronomic center.
Our favorite area to eat in the Northeast of Puerto Rico is the area of the Luquillo Kiosks. Here 60 Kiosks are found to taste both Puerto Rican and international food. Our favorite restaurant is La Estación in Las Croabas, Fajardo. Everything is local at La Estación and the quality of flavor, presentation and atmosphere is second to none. The bar is excellent too! Ask for “un cocotazo”.
For breakfast, we recommend Las Vistas Café also in Las Croabas, Fajardo. Its owner Gladys, will receive you and makes you feel at home. This rooftop breakfast and brunch place has tremendous coffee, views and food.
To have a drink in the afternoon, we recommend Boardriders at La Pared in Luquillo. Right on the beach, you can order your drink and watch the surfers show. Most of the time they have live music. For us the best lodges in our area are in the town of Rio Grande. From places in the Yunque Rainforest skirt like Hacienda Siesta Alegre to large hotels on the coast such as the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar. Other smaller and alternate lodges are Casa Coral in Luquillo and Las Vistas Café in Las Croabas, Fajardo.
We hope our recommendations help you enjoy our destination in Northeast Puerto Rico.
